Pro Landscaper March

by | 08 Mar 24 | Digital Editions

It’s the return of Pro Landscaper’s Green Issue – our fifth one since we first started dedicating our March issue to sustainability in 2019. And whilst we’re not out of the climate crisis yet, the last five years have seen some huge strides from the industry towards a greener future. We’ve highlighted a few of these achievements this month, as well as spoken to a few of our inaugural Pro Landscaper Sustainability & Biodiversity Award winners, and featured contributors who reflect on the recent introduction of the long-awaited biodiversity net gain. The landscaping industry is in a prime position to be a driver for change, and small steps can have a wider impact.

In this issue:

  • Let’s Hear It From…Carolin Gohler. The president-elect of the Landscape Institute has collaboration and tackling the climate emergency at the heart of her manifesto.
  • Are we barking up the wrong tree?Mass tree planting sounds great in theory, but there’s more to it than simply hitting ambitious targets.
  • Green Gains. From projects to products, discover a few achievements that individuals, companies and organisations have made.

Don’t miss:

  • For the Sake of Nature. Domestic gardens can also play their part in reversing biodiversity loss, and it doesn’t necessarily need a significant budget.
  • A Work in Progress. It’s a “gamechanger”, but there are a few aspects of the new biodiversity net gain legislation that need to be built upon, says Chris Churchman.
  • Little Interviews. Hear from three of our 2023 Pro Landscaper Sustainability & Biodiversity Award winners.
