12 Days of Christmas: Green-tech acquired and new managing director revealed

Longstanding landscape supplier, Green-tech, saw some big changes this year. In March, the company was acquired by Origin Enterprises, a focused Agri-services group providing specialist on-farm agronomy services, digital agricultural services, the supply of crop technologies and amenity inputs.

With the intention of enhancing Green-tech, the investment was made to help drive product development and further accelerate Green-tech’s growth. The deal was said to be a true reflection of Green-tech’s ambition, managing director Richard Kay commented: “We are always focused on moving onwards upwards.”

Towards of the end year, co-founders and managing directors of Green-tech, Richard and Rachel Kay, announced they were stepping down, After a strong 27 years of consistent development and success, the couple handed the reins over to new managing director, Kris Nellist.

Kris ensures Richard and Rachel’s ambition for the business will continue under his management, he added: “Green-tech will seize all opportunities presented, and I will be working with Origin to ensure that Green-tech will continue to grow and remain at the forefront of the industry as the market leader in the landscaping and forestry industries.”

Green-tech has been an incredible and proud support at the Pro Landscaper award ceremonies, sponsoring the 30 under 30: The Next Generation Awards year after year. Richard explained: “These awards are one of the most valuable initiatives in the industry that recognise, encourage and celebrate the remarkable talent of the younger generation.” Just like us, Green-tech take great interest in watching the younger generations careers in landscaping, horticulture, and forestry develop.
