12 Days of Christmas: Ground Control announced new managing director and carbon neutrality

Pro Landscaper’s 12 days of Christmas starts today. We take a look back over the industry highlights from the last year, remembering some key events in the landscaping industry.

At the beginning of the year, Ground Control announced the appointment of new managing director, Jason Knights, with Marcus Watson handing over to him. And, just a couple months later, Ground Control achieved the phenomenal goal of becoming carbon neutral – four years ahead of schedule too. This, a particularly outstanding moment for the industry this year, and a great encouragement for others working in the sector to follow their path.

Offering plenty of advice, experience, and ideas, Jason Knights joined the Pro Landscaper team as a semi regular columnist. So far, Jason has discussed Ground Control plans to achieve its ambitious goal of becoming net zero by 2025, and, he explored how new technology such as drones, robots, and apps, are all helping position the company at the cutting edge of the landscaping industry.

In May, Ground Control won their second Queen’s Award for Enterprise, and soon after, the company was crowned as one of the UK’s best companies to work for. A ground-breaking and positive year for Ground Control indeed!

In our green issue published in March, we explored everything green. Discussing key action points towards helping make your business greener, sustainable investments, and the reduction of our carbon footprint as an industry – Marcus Watson explained how we must accelerate the pace of change to create a sustainable world. Our 147-page issue of green initiatives was truly jam packed.
