12 Days of Christmas: October 2023

With Halloween on the horizon, our October issue asked the question ‘is our skills shortage at an all-time low?’ – a very scary situation indeed. 

In a bid to resolve the skills crisis we explored how we can break down barriers and diversify our workforce to make horticulture more inclusive.

Meanwhile the days grew shorter and our evenings darker- not a problem for our lighting supplement in association with in-lite, where we explored the dramatic illumination of Princes Circus in London’s West End. 

In other news

The RHS revealed a number of the gardens set to exhibit at Chelsea 2024, including the first one to be “designed by children, for children”. 

While we revealed the shortlist for our Sustainability & Biodiversity Awards in association with Kress, and the winners of our 30 Under 30: The Next Generation in association with Green-tech. 

And the HTA published a new two-part report, outlining the ‘significant value’ UK horticulture can contribute to growing a greener future.
