Glendale Horticulture, the Parkwood Holdings subsidiary, has strengthened its position as a leading supplier within the horticulture industry by consolidating its three nurseries to fall under the Glendale Horticulture brand.

The company acquired Coblands in Kent in 2006, RA Merediths Nurseries in Fretherne Gloucestershire in July 2013 and Mahood Brothers in Lathom Lancashire in November 2014 and employs over 250 people.

Collectively the nurseries benefit from over 100 years experience, producing over 18 million plants per annum including bedding plants, herbs, vegetables, trees, shrubs, perennials and herbaceous products for the amenity and retail market.

By centralising its administration, finance, logistics and distribution operations at its nursery in Fretherne, Gloucestershire it has enabled the company to streamline its operation whilst still offering the same high quality products and service.

Andrew Bennett, managing director of Glendale Horticulture, commented “The structural changes implemented will enable the company to move forward as one entity, with common processes and procedures to ensure the quality and service is of a consistently high standard across the group, and to offer a wider range of product to the customer base.”
