To mark the 400th anniversary of Williams Shakespeare’s death in 2016, Haddonstone has created the Soane Shakespeare bust. Taken from the copy of Thomas Sheemakers’ work in the permanent collection of the Sir John Soane’s Museum in London, this bust will join Haddonstone’s acclaimed Soane collection.
Sir John Soane (1753-1837) was one of the most inventive and celebrated architects of his time. His surviving works include Pitzhanger Manor, Ealing, and his house in Lincoln’s Inn Fields, London (now the Soane Museum) which is probably his greatest legacy. The Museum contains his astonishing collection of artefacts.
The Soane Shakespeare will be formally launched at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2016 to be held on 24 – 28 May and will cost £399 including VAT.
Established in 1971, Haddonstone is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of fine garden ornaments and architectural stonework in traditional, classical and contemporary styles. Based at East Haddon, in the rolling countryside of Northamptonshire, Haddonstone has beautiful show gardens and an interior showroom where visitors can see many of the designs in their intended setting.
The gardens are open to the public Monday-Friday from 9.00am until 5.00pm (excluding public holidays and the Christmas period). The gardens will also open on the first Saturday of the month from April to September.
Haddonstone will be on stand RHW376 this year at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
