Horticulture trade charity Perennial will be the guest exhibitor at Haddonstone’s ‘Special Saturday Show Garden Open Day’ on 6th August. Guests can enjoy a complimentary glass of bubbly and canapés on arrival and music from acclaimed jazz sax player John Ray Driscoll while exploring Haddonstone’s gardens, not usually open to the public on the weekends.
This is the first time a national charity has been the guest exhibitor at one of Haddonstone’s open days. Perennial is the only charity dedicated to helping everyone working in and retired from horticulture in times of crisis. Haddonstone will donate 5% of all sales on the open day to Perennial, to help the charity continue to offer its essential services to those in need.
Simon Scott, marketing director at Haddonstone comments: “After playing a key role in providing stonework for the Perennial show garden at the RHS Tatton Park Flower Show last year, Haddonstone is delighted to continue to support the foremost benevolent charity, where they will be guest exhibitor at one of our ‘Special Saturday’ show garden openings. A percentage from every sale will go to Perennial – so please do support the event.”
The gardens at Haddonstone, set in the village of East Haddon, Northamptonshire, are truly inspirational. A range of different ‘garden rooms’ showcase Haddonstone’s beautiful garden ornaments and architectural stonework in their intended setting, including everything from planters and fountains to sundials, balustrades and follies.
Sue Brinsden, development officer at Perennial comments: “Perennial has been part of this amazing industry for 177 years and it is fitting that we should pair up with Haddonstone for this special garden opening. The open day will be an opportunity to find out more about the vital role Perennial plays in looking after everyone in this industry as well as how people can get involved.”
