Livingwallz are now importing a living wall system into the UK. Developed in the Netherlands, Duragreen Living Walls are a cost effective means of bringing the numerous positive benefits of plant-life and its associated ecosystems to the built environment. The Duragreen modular Living Wall System has been designed to support plant species which to date have been typically used on extensive sedum green-roofs. The pre-grown modules can be planted up to accommodate a particular siteβs requirements or to an ecologists specified plant list.
The system offers building designers significant cost saving benefits:
- The 600 X 600mm modular units have been designed to integrate directly into the fabric of the building to form the outer façade.
- The modules are supplied pre-grown which afford rapid installation using an innovative clip system.
- Leased living wall can be offered due to the ease of installing and deconstructing the units which are extremely robust and sedum plants which regenerate continuously.
- The modules conform to EN ISO1793-1 Category A2 noise absorption for road barriers, Weighted Sound Absorption Coefficient (EN ISO 1654:1997 = 0.60 (MH)
- Sedum and green roof plants typically require far less maintenance and consume significantly less water than living wall systems currently available in the UK.
