Landscape company Bowles & Wyer has announced that Jason Lock, former partner at DeakinLock Garden Design, has been appointed as its new head of design & build.

Jason joins Bowles & Wyer as part of its continued restructuring following the closure of his practice DeakinLock last week. Taking up the new position, he will be responsible for developing the Design & Build division of the business under the leadership of CEO John Wyer and managing director Dan Riddleston.

Jason has over 30 years experience in the garden design industry including time spent as chief executive and chair of the Association of Professional Landscapers (APL) and on the council of the Society of Garden Designers (SGD). He has been on the judging panel of a number of national award schemes, including currently serving as a judge on the BALI Awards, and has won numerous awards himself including Gold and Silver-Gilt medals at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

Jason Lock said: “As one of the leading landscaping companies in the UK, I’ve admired Bowles & Wyer’s work for a long time and I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining the organisation at such an exciting time in its development. I’m immensely proud of the work I achieved at DeakinLock and am looking forward to developing my design and project management skills and having the opportunity to work on larger-scale commercial projects as part of the Bowles & Wyer team.”

John Wyer, CEO at Bowles & Wyer, said: “Design & Build has always been at the heart of what we do at Bowles & Wyer but there is still huge opportunity to develop it further. Jason’s knowledge and expertise in design-led project management and his talent for building and maintaining client relationships will bring a new focus to that part of the business and I’ve no doubt that it will flourish under his leadership. I’m delighted to welcome him to the team at the beginning of an exciting new phase for the business.”
