Award-winning Yorkshire based garden design company, Bestall & Co celebrates its 20th anniversary with founder, Lee Bestall, reflecting on the journey.

Bestall, who is also a member of BALI and chairman of the Yorkshire and North East region for the organisation, wrote on LinkedIn today: “20 years ago today was my first day in business. I began the day by loading my new mower into the back of my van and set off to cut grass.”

Since founding the company two decades ago, Bestall is now director of innovation, operating within all aspects of the company, focusing on growth and innovation across the business.

Over the last 20 years Bestall & Co have been recognised by the likes of the Royal Horticultural Society, BBC Gardeners’ World Live and the Harrogate Flower Show.

Bestall says he was encouraged by his mentors to take risks as well as championing him on, adding that his wife Paula Bestall has been his biggest supporter.

“Paula has been by my side all the way. In the early days her job supported us financially and made it possible to start this wonderful business, allowing us to share our creative gifts and help improve the world in which our clients live.”
