Defra opens applications for Plant Health Register of Reviewers

by | 16 Aug 24 | Nature & Biodiversity, News

Defra Plant Health has opened applications to join a Plant Health Register of Reviewers.

It is being created to increase Defra’s access to experts and advice from across the field and to provide support and ad-hoc tasks.

It is intended to provide an additional, independent assurance function, where the programme would benefit from this to ensure quality, trust and robustness of outputs and therefore maximise the impact on public interests.

It is looking to recruit members of staff from Defra’s arm length bodies or existing joint ventures.

Specifically, it is looking for people to appraise project proposals, to help inform the design and prioritisation of new research and evidence questions as well as evaluate final reports.

Sifting will begin on 13 September and plan to keep the call open to future applicants.

To apply for the role Defra asks that you fill out an online application form and more information can be found on its website.
