The popularity of pergolas have seen them become a potential way of increasing the value on your house, research from Stokemont suggests.
Stokemont, the chartered surveyors, carried out research which found that pergolas were the second most searched for garden feature with 71,000 monthly searches.
Greenhouses were fourth, with 44,000 monthly searches, proving the practical growing space is not being ignored by potential house buyers.
Speaking about Pergolas, Bradley Mackenzie, property surveyor at Stokemont, says: βA Pergola could be key in increasing your property value. The Pergola has become much more popular of late, especially on social media platforms like TikTok where many creators and influencers have shown them including a pergola in their garden projects.
“A Pergola will prove a great addition to the summer weather as it will allow you to escape from the direct sunlight and enjoy the outdoors from a shaded area. This also means that you will have a protected outdoor area in all elements of weather, showing how versatile this addition will be.β
The garden feature took a starring role in last month’s issue of Pro Landscaper as we took a trip to Renson’s NOA Park in Belgium, where we go through what makes the 30,000Β² area so special.
