Former 30 Under 30 winner Rachel Platt has secured a spot among the top 20 garden designers for 2024 by Country and Townhouse Magazine.

Platt won her 30 under 30 award back in 2022, and across that and the following year won back-to-back won a Silver-Gilt medal, Best Construction, and People’s Choice awards at Tatton Park.

Now she spends her time running her own garden design practice, Rachel Platt Garden Design, for private residential homes across Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, and Berkshire.

“Being recognised by Country and Townhouse Magazine is a tremendous honour and a delightful validation of the hard work I put into every project,” says Platt.

β€œI am passionate about creating spaces that not only look beautiful but also contribute positively to the environment and my clients’ wellbeing.”

Platt’s journey began at the Oxford College of Garden Design, where she studied under the tutelage of Duncan Heather, a six-time RHS medallist, and graduated with distinction.

Her academic prowess translated into practical expertise as she honed her skills with Coleby and Faulkner, contributing significantly during both the construction and maintenance phases of its projects.

Platt’s career trajectory continued upward as she freelanced for notable firms like Matt Haddon Studios, The Garden Design Company and Manoj Malde Garden Design.

Her designs are known for their harmonious balance between contemporary design principles and the timeless beauty of natural landscapes, making her a preferred choice for clients seeking a peaceful retreat from their busy lives.
