30 Under 30 – A catch up with Taylor Gee

Following a significant year of growth for young company, Design Only Gardens, director and founder Taylor Gee is keen to keep the success going with the launch of a new company website that he hopes will become a “valuable content hub” for garden designers and landscapers.

Founded in 2017 by Jake Ridgway and Pro Landscaper 30 Under 30 2024 winner Taylor Gee, Design Only Gardens is committed to bringing every project’s bespoke journey to life with “detailed, high-impact” visualisations.

“We understand it is not enough to simply present the basics. Through our white-labelled presentations and high service standards, we transform our client’s garden designs into powerful presentation tools that ignite excitement and keep them talking for years to come.”

The founding pair recognised the old website did little justice to the company’s continued expansion and felt a feedback centric and contemporary overhaul was the way to go.

“With input from the fantastic landscapers, designers and suppliers we’ve had the privilege of working with, we’ve been able to refine our approach and focus on delivering exactly what resonates with them.”

Going on to say this feedback is what shaped the new website; “now featuring client testimonials, showcasing our team’s best work and presenting a clear value proposition that reflects not just our story, but the feedback and needs of our clients.”

Gee now aspires to continue attracting more “top talent, ranging from horticultural experts to specialists in alternative rendering and CAD software – allowing us to broaden our service offering even further.”

Design Only Gardens is already well versed in project diversity, as it is currently in the midst of expanding its supplier and commercial landscaper portfolios.

“We’re now providing visuals for show home villages and landscape product launches – something we hadn’t originally anticipated. This diversification is a key part of our future and we’re excited to see where it leads.

This diversification is sure to prove beneficial for the company’s upcoming projects as it looks to the years ahead.

“We are in a fortunate position at the moment to be approached for garden visuals for flower shows in 2026, which are always special to be a part of.”

Taylor Gee joined the ranks of Pro Landscaper’s 30 Under 30 alumni, which is now 300 strong; collecting his award at a special ceremony at FutureScape, which also celebrated the initiative’s major milestone alongside decade-long partners, Green-tech.

“Winning this award is truly special. As business owners and professionals, it’s easy to put your head down, focus on doing good work and help as many people as possible. To receive recognition for those efforts – not just for me, but as a reflection of what Design Only Gardens has achieved in such a short time – really motivates me, especially when things get tough.”

Gee adds that it was fellow alumni and director of Consilium Hortus, Sam Moore, that pushed him to apply, saying: “He encouraged me to apply after seeing the work we had done for him and hearing about our ambitious plans for the industry. His support, along with a pledge to provide a testimonial, gave me the final push to commit”

Now the Design Only Garden director is encouraging fellow aspiring professionals to apply: “It’s easy to feel like you need to do more, even when you’re already doing all the right things. Recognition can be a powerful motivator and you might be surprised at the impact it can have on your career and confidence.

“Don’t hesitate to showcase your achievements and apply.”
