Attention garden designers! Applications are now open for several of the categories at two RHS Flower Shows in 2025: the RHS Hampton Court Garden Festival and the inaugural RHS Flower Show at Wentworth Woodhouse in South Yorkshire.

The categories and respective shows are as follows;

RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival 2025

City Pocket Planting

A planting design category open to those currently studying, or recently graduated from a horticultural-based course, or new to the industry (five years or less).

Nine successful applicants will receive mentorship from an award winning garden designer, and financial support in lieu of £500 worth of plants from Hortus Loci, as well as £1,000 in cash from the RHS.

Deadline for entries is 17 January 2025.

RHS Flower Show Wentworth Woodhouse

Long Borders

Open to designers, community groups, horticultural students and budding gardeners. This category can provide a good initial step into show exhibitions.

Each successful applicant will receive £800 in funding from the RHS.

Deadline for entries is 10 February 2025.

Career Changer of the Year

Open to those aged 31 or over in the year of 2025 and who have not exhibited in any Show Garden category at any RHS Shows previously.

Those who have exhibited in the Border (rather than Show Garden) categories are eligible to apply.

Successful applicants will each receive £4,000 from the RHS.

Deadline for entries is 13 January 2025.

Terrace Gardens

This category seeks to explore how to maximise green space without compromising on practicality. Designers are required to propose beautiful planting options alongside clever design solutions and novel ideas for functional items.

Each successful applicant will receive £5,000 from the RHS.

Deadline for entries is 13 January 2025.

RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026

Applications for the Balcony and Container Gardeners category at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show are now closed for 2025, but those interested in exhibiting in 2026 are encouraged to contact Graeme Maynard at graememaynard@rhs.org.uk from the RHS Shows Team to find out more about applying in the future.
