The Turfgrass Growers Association (TGA) is warning that the price of turf products is likely to go up this year as the industry continues to face challenging weather conditions and rising operational costs.
The overall cost of production is being pushed up as it attempts to tackle extreme and variable weather patterns, increased disease management programmes last year, as well as the impending hike in employers’ National Insurance contributions.
Chair Richard Owens says that “price adjustments are essential to ensure the industry’s viability and ability to meet future demand.”
The TGA issued a similar warning at the start of 2024 as turf producers also faced rising fertiliser and fuel costs as well as supply chain issues.
It urges the landscaping industry to anticipate price volatility and plan accordingly for upcoming projects.
