New CEO to join Lantra this summer

by | 10 Mar 25 | News

Nick Juba has been appointed as Lantra’s new CEO as of June this year following the retirement of Marcus Potter.

Dr David Llewellyn, chair of the board of trustees, says Potter has “made an enormous contribution” to the awarding body for land-based industries and its partners over the last decade.

His replacement, Juba, joins from Capita Group Plc, where he has been overseeing the delivery of all shore-based education and training for the Royal Navy and the Royal Marines as director of learning since 2020.

Prior to this, he held chief executive positions in Further Education. He started his career at the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority before becoming a consultant to the European Commission. He then led the University of the Arts Awarding Body in the Higher Education sector.

Llewellyn says Juba will play an “important part” in “working hard to support skills development and training in the land-based and environment sector, and to invest in activities that will help policy makers recognise the vital role that these industries play in the national economy.”

Juba adds that he hopes “to work in partnership to deliver the skills we need for the success of our local, regional and national economies.”
