Husqvarna, a leading manufacturer of outdoor power equipment, unveiled its brand-new chainsaws at the Arb Show 2025.
At the arboriculture industry event on 16-17 May, the manufacturer debuted the new 564 XP model, Husqvarnaβs first chainsaw with fuel injection. Alongside that release, Husqvarna also introduced the 550i XP, a new battery chainsaw.
Husqvarna describes the 564 XP as βa game changer,β delivering 70cc-class power in a compact 50cc-sized frame. This is achieved through its fuel injection system and new engine layout.
As battery-powered innovations in arboriculture took centre stage at the Arb Show, the spotlight was firmly on Husqvarnaβs 550i XP battery powered chainsaw. At the Husqvarna sponsored chainsaw zone, UK product manager Ryan Patterson shares insights with Pro Landscaper about the modelβs place in Husqvarnaβs catalogue.
βIn the past, one of the issues with battery saws was the power. This is the most powerful battery saw on the market. The 550i is fully 50cc capable but in battery form. Using the standard battery, 36-volt system, there is 2.5 kW power output,β Patterson says.
He adds that this model offers added flexibility, with a range of bar lengths available to suit different cutting needs. Its power output can be further boosted when paired with a higher-capacity battery.
The chainsawβs built-in software includes a βsave modeβ to extend battery life. Patterson explains: βThe software also delivers power equivalent to a mechanical clutch.β Additionally, external software enables users to connect to Husqvarnaβs βConnectβ app for real-time battery health monitoring.
One other feature, Patterson highlights, is the βnew cooling system that keeps all the interior electronics at a stable temperature, increasing its reliability rate.β
It is also available in two versions, the standardΒ 550i XPΒ and theΒ 550i XP-G, which features heated grips for cold-weather operation.
The 550i XP and 564 XP will be available from local dealers by the end of 2025. The 550i XP retailing at Β£839 to Β£879, and the 564 XP retailing between Β£1349 to Β£1399.
