The Young People in Horticulture Association (YPHA) has completed the first three days of its inaugural Management Training Programme.
Held at Pershore College, delegates from across the industry joined the course for team-building exercises, classroom learning and leadership sessions with Lindsay Muir of Cedar Associates.Β
Participants included those from Hillier, Cookβs Garden Centre, The Secret Garden Centre, GrowTropicals, Fron Goch Garden Centre, Hartleyβs Nurseries, Kerley & Co, the YPHA Committee, the HTA, Old Railway Line Garden Centre, Klondyke Garden Centres, New Leaf Plants and Happy Plants.Β
HTAβs Jeremy Costello reflects on the training programme:
βItβs been a fantastic learning curve, both in understanding myself and how I work with others. Iβve come away buzzing with ideas about my approach to leading projects and people, and with a much clearer sense of my own leadership style in context.β
Made possible through a collaborative funding model, the programme thanks the delegateβs employers, YPHAβs own launch success initiative and the Colegrave Seabrook Foundation.Β
Set to continue in January and March next year, the management programme will further modules designed to deepen skills and knowledge whilst building a supportive leadership community across horticulture.Β
