New charity launches to plant 1,000 acres of wildflower meadows

by | 24 Oct 25 | Nature & Biodiversity, News

Burge’s Meadows, a new charity founded by Mark Burges Watson, has launched with a mission to plant 1,000 acres of wildflower meadows across England and Wales.

The charity intends to reach this goal by 2035, whilst the first seeds are set to be down at pioneering sites this season.

Watson, fondly known as ‘Burge’ has established the charity to create a positive and uplifting legacy for his family since being recently diagnosed with an incurable cancer at age 57.

Committed to environmental restoration, Burge’s Meadow intends to contribute to education and inspiration for all.

Many of the intended wildflower sites will be accessible and designed to help people reconnect with nature, fostering mental and physical well-being.

The charity’s official launch event will be on 3 November.
