Caribbean Blinds has announced the release of its latest White Paper that explores smarter, sustainable shading solutions that can turn unusable rooms into liveable spaces during the summer.

The White Paper highlights how quick fixes such as fans and air conditioning are no effective barrier to what is becoming a long-term issue, based on record-breaking temperatures this summer.

Research conducted for the report found that whilst 41% of homeowners worry about overheating, only 15% recognise poor solar shading as the main cause.

External blinds block up to 97% of solar gain and can lower indoor temperatures by almost 20°C, explains the report.

Stuart Dantzic, managing director of Caribbean Blinds, says “external blinds stop heat at source. They are simple, effective and overlooked”.

The White Paper has been commissioned as a means of benefiting homeowners struggling with overheating, says Dantzic, which can be found here.
