Alongside The Wildlife Trusts and Northumberland Wildlife Trust, Sir David Attenborough has stepped forward in an effort to raise funds to protect the Rothbury Estate.Β
The Rothbury Appeal is a Β£30m effort to protect 9,500 acres of wild upland and the Simonside Hills in Northumberland, intended to be bought by The Wildlife Trusts for protection.
With one year left before the land risks being sold off and broken up, Attenborough and The Wildlife Trusts are urging people to make donations.Β
βTime is running out to save the historic Rothbury Estateβ¦ please help us make this vision a reality,β says Attenborough.Β
Hosting wildlife such as red squirrels, skylarks and curlews, the moorlands and woodland also provides spaces for people to explore nature.Β
