Big Chalk collaboration looks to boost nature recovery

by | 12 Jan 26 | Nature & Biodiversity, News, Sustainability

Big Chalk partners have announced a new grassland-specific ecosystem services toolkit in an effort to boost nature’s recovery and sustainable farming.

A programme comprising of more than 150 organisations creating thriving chalk and limestone landscapes across southern England, Big Chalk says the toolkit is “exactly the kind of collaborative and practical approach Big Chalk champions β€” helping turn our partnership’s shared ambition for nature’s recovery into real change on the ground across the landscapes that make up 20% of England”.

Developed with Natural Environment Investment Readiness Fund (NEIRF) support, the toolkit is formed of clear, useable steps from grazing and soil management to habitat restoration and biodiversity gains.

Led by Plantlife, the resource is aimed at framers and land managers to restore species-rich grasslands, including chalk and limestone grasslands at the heart of Big Chalk.

The toolkit can be found here.
