Seven plants have been nominated for the Show Your Colours Award 2026 at IPM Essen, an international horticulture trade show taking place on 27 – 30 January 2026.

All wood plants and perennials exhibitors of the trade show were encouraged to submit a plant or plant concept for the award as a means to put their products in the spotlight.

The nominated plants include cercis canadensis ‘JN100’ Hearts A’Fire from Joh. Stolwijk and Zonen, Solanum Melongena (Pick-&-Joy® Aubergine) from Vreugdenhil Young Plants, Hydrangea macrophylla ‘Bailmaceight’ EUPBRAF (ENDLESS SUMMER® DREAMCLOUD®) from Bailey Nurseries International), NewGen® Buxus from Van Vliet New Plants BV, Picea Magical Christmas from Magical Garden Plants, Rhododendron Hybride Grazeasy® Purple from Diderk Heinje Pflanzenhandelsges from mbH & Co. KG and Salix candida ‘Jefberg’ (First Editions® ICEBERG ALLEY®) from Joh. Stolwijk and Zonen.

The nominated plants will be presented in the Show Your Colours presentation in hall eight during the exhibition days.

From 27 – 29 January, visitors will be able to vote for their favourite plant using tokens. On 30 January, the plants and their stories will be judged by an international expert jury.

Both jury and visitor votes will choose the ultimate winner.
