The Children’s Society RHS Chelsea Garden reveals resilient plant scheme

by | 26 Jan 26 | Garden Design, News, RHS Chelsea Flower Show, Sustainability

Landscape architect Patrick Clarke has announced his resilient planting scheme for The Children’s Society Garden at RHS Chelsea Flower Show in May 2026.

Featuring greens, coppers, yellows and purples, Clarke’s planting scheme includes hardy plants that renew each season and thrive across each section of the garden – sunny, transitional and shade.

Hannah Fox from Bright Green Fox in Lewes, East Sussex, is growing some of the plants selected for the garden such as Verbascum Arctutus.

Clarke says “a personal plant favourite will be the star-like blooms of Gillenia trifoliata, which I chose as it reflects subtle, sometimes hidden beauty – a reminder that every young person holds unique qualities and potential, even if not always immediately visible.”

Other low-maintenance, resilient plants included within the scheme are Iris β€˜Kent Pride’ and Iris ‘Butter and Sugar, grown by Hortus Loci in Surrey.
