Croydon approves landscape-led public realm transformation

by | 25 Mar 26 | Landscape Architecture, News

The London Borough of Croydon has granted planning permission for Tapestry Croydon, a new public space within the Fairfield Masterplan.

Set to transform the currently landlocked site into a new, connected part of the town centre, Tapestry Croydon will be landscape-led.

Working in collaboration with Delta Properties, Studio Egret West has led the architecture and landscape design for the public realm transformation.

A new east-west connection via Hazledean Walk will reconnect communities and unlock movement across the new site.

Arnham Gardens will unlock 61 new semi-mature trees and biodiversity net gain.

“This is about more than redevelopment for Croydon, it’s about stitching together movement, landscape, culture, and everyday life in a way that hasn’t been possible here before,” explains Studio Egret West.
