Killingley, a landscaping firm based in Chesterfield, has announced its plans to expand in response to its recent success and emerging opportunities around the Oxford-Cambridge growth corridor.
A successful 2025, Killingley’s recent accounts show its turnover of over Β£14m, in comparison to 2024 which was Β£12m. It also finished 2025 with an operating profit of over Β£1m, in comparison to Β£900k in 2024.
The family business and Pro Landscaper Business Award-winning Commercial Landscape Company 2025 is looking for ambitious individuals to suit the expansion across Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire and Cambridgeshire.
Gareth Dillon, managing director at Killingley, explains the importance of the expansion plans:
“The expansion is largely being driven by our existing clients who are asking us to deliver projects for them further afield. We’re expanding geographically because clients trust us and want to use Killingley elsewhere. That’s obviously a good position to be in.”
The new office will be realised once the new recruits are found. “Our immediate priority is finding the right people, and we’re looking across a slightly wider area including Oxfordshire and Cambridgeshire for those first appointments,” says Dillon. He adds:
“The people we recruit will be one of several factors that help inform the eventual location and facilities. We’re deliberately taking that approach because getting the right people who understand and can maintain the Killingley culture and standards is more important to us than choosing an office first and then limiting ourselves to whoever happens to live nearby.”
As a whole, the expansion will give clients a greater capacity to support their projects across a wider geography while maintaining the service, standards and relationship they already trust.
“Chesterfield will remain our headquarters and we’ll continue to operate as one Killingley. The additional regional capability will extend the area we can service efficiently, supported by the systems, resources and experience we already have within the business,” Dillon clarifies.
In the long run, the expansion will support Killingley’s long distance travel and intends to support the growing workload. Dillon comments:
“The priority is to grow in a controlled and sustainable way while protecting the standards, relationships and culture that have got us to where we are today.”
Organic recruitment has already commenced, with Killingley announcing the official recruitment search on Monday 7 September. The company is on the hunt for a senior contracts manager, a quantity surveyor and site managers.
