Two apprentices have accepted full-time positions with a commercial landscaping company. Josh Clark and Liam Jarred both completed their apprenticeships with CGM Group, based in Downham Market, Norfolk, and have now been employed by the company.
Josh Clark learned a variety of skills throughout this apprenticeship which he says will be beneficial in the long term. His previous roles includes being a security guard, but he says he enjoys grounds maintenance far more, and he is now working as part of CGM Group’s grounds maintenance team that looks after schools.
Liam Jarred studied computer science, but says he found it repetitive and was eager to try sometime different. He says that as an apprentice at CGM Group he appreciated being able to work outside and get a sense of achievement when a job was completed. Liam now provides grounds maintenance services at housing association sites and domestic gardens.
Tim Glover, managing director at CGM Group, says: “We’re pleased that Josh and Liam have accepted full-time positions after completing their apprenticeships. They have both worked hard, been enthusiastic and shown commitment to the company so they deserve this opportunity. I’m a strong supporter of apprenticeships and of giving people a chance to learn new skills that will help them in the future.”
Each year, CGM Group offers 15 to 20 apprenticeships in a variety of roles, and earlier this year won the national Apprenticeship Scheme category at the Pro Landscaper Business Awards.
