BALI-NCF to host Landscape Summit at FutureScape 2016

BALI-NCF is hosting the Landscape Summit at FutureScape 2016.

Following on from the success of last year’s seminar, BALI-NCF will have two topics to discuss at FutureScape: ‘The apprenticeship levy – What does it mean for the landscaping and grounds maintenance industry?’ and ‘Managing our green spaces – The client contractor relationship’.

The apprenticeship levy consists of all information concerning apprenticeship fees, funding, levy and digital vouchers. The seminar will feed into discussions on the implications for employers, both levy and non-levy paying, in the landscaping and grounds maintenance industry. Also explored will be the viewpoint of the contractor in regards to the future of apprenticeships. This session will allow plenty of time for clarification questions.

Speaking at this seminar will be:

Sue Welsh, senior national account manager for the Skills Funding Agency

Julien Wathen, performance and development director from ISS Facility Services Landscaping.

The second seminar, which will be held after lunch, is the ‘Managing our green spaces’ seminar. This seminar will take a look at how the present state of parks impacts the behaviour of those who manage and maintain them, and particularly at how client and contractor can work together more effectively to find a workable solution to industry challenges. Key action initiatives for both local authority and contractor to ensure our parks and open spaces remain fit for purpose will be discussed. How local authorities are diverting their budgets away from the support of grounds maintenance to our parks and open spaces will also be touched on during this seminar.

Speakers for this seminar are as follows:

Phil Jones, chairman of BALI-NCF and Pro Landscaper contributor

Tony Leach, chief executive of London Parks and Green Spaces Forum

David Brown, principal of Occam’s Razor Consulting Ltd.
