Capel Students celebrate rightfully

Capel Manor College students are rightfully celebrating this summer after successfully achieving their vocational, land based qualifications. These students are now preparing to head off to University or undertake a career in their chosen industry.

One student who excelled in her training and studies, Lucy Luck, is just one of a huge number of this year’s cohorts who completed their training to an amazing standard. Lucy, who has been studying at Capel for over a year now, was very lucky to be chosen to record an advert at the Kiss 100 studios last month, along with some other students. The aim of the advert was to encourage potential students to enrol on a college course.

Sarah Moreland, Head of The Princess Royal College of Animal Management and Saddlery, London, said, “Lucy has grown and developed during her Extended Diploma in Animal Management, always achieving Distinctions. She was awarded the Rita Smythe Award for the most promising progression at Capel, due to her dedication and infectious positive attitude. She was the first student to apply to the new Animal Management and Zoology Foundation degree receiving an unconditional place and we are very proud of what Lucy has achieved. The teaching team are certain Lucy will continue to excel with her training here at Capel.”

Capel is more than just a college. “Whilst studying at Capel, everyone gets involved in the running of the College’s animal collections, estates, farms and gardens, and this is what makes students extra employable or helps them to secure a place at university.” says Malcolm Goodwin, Deputy Principal. “We are so proud of our students and their achievements. They do not just attend College, they are the College. We wish all our graduating students the very best as they are finishing and joining the land based industry at a really exciting time. Land based is one of the most rewarding industries to work in as it is endlessly variable, highly creative and you are contributing to the future environment and wellbeing of the whole of society.”

Capel is Greater London’s largest land based further and Higher Education College. It has a unique learning environment combining academic excellence with practical skills in first-class working surroundings. With centres at Brooks Farm (Leyton), Crystal Palace, Enfield, Gunnersbury Park, New Covent Garden Market and Regent’s Park, it ensures the employability and prospects of all of its students.
