Struggling to source durable and stylish garden planters, window boxes or water butts for clients or perhaps even your own home?
Check out Arthur Jack & Co’s traditional outdoor range made from heavy gauge galvanised steel – all are long-lasting as well as stylish and have the bonus of being made in Britain by artisan metal craftsmen.
Boasting planters in five sizes, two styles of water butt (that you will not want to hide away), and window boxes designed to fit most sills, the range has a host of clever design features to ensure everything performs as well as it looks.
As eye-catching focal points, the garden planters are made from 1.5mm galvanised steel and are perfect as containers for topiary box, roses, small shrubs and trees, and flowers. They have feet in each corner to keep the base clear, and the decorative ornamentation is galvanised separately.
The window boxes have adjustable legs to make them level on a slanted sill and aid drainage. They can be used as terrace edging and for hanging over railings. Bottom panels in both planters and window boxes are drilled to avoid water logging.
Echoing the 18th century lead cisterns still to be found in the gardens of grand houses around the country, Arthur Jack & Co’s seriously stylish water butts have classic, design-led looks and all the practical features needed to harvest rainwater for years to come.
They have a hose-ready, brushed chrome tap set at watering can height. The positioning of the 2.5cm hole for accessing water from rainwater harnessing systems can be placed in various locations according to personal requirements.
Extras available include a galvanised grill to protect against rodents, birds and leaves, and a box-section plinth for added protection to the base, particularly useful when sited on open ground rather than a hard standing.
They are fabricated in 2mm galvanised steel with no less than 90 coach bolts used in the construction. All joints are treated with a waterproof mastic prior to final assembly.
Like all Arthur Jack & Co products the butts are treated to give an aged patina, which will further develop over time.
The range is the result of a great deal of research by a couple of keen gardeners, who were unable to find exactly what they wanted for their own garden – and so Arthur Jack & Co was born.
Starting out with a small selection of planters made in a local forge, the company quickly expanded after its water butt got shortlisted for an RHS Chelsea Flower Show Garden Product of the Year award. All their products are available online for home delivery on arthurjack.co.uk with prices from £180 before trade discounts.
Tim Dawson of Arthur Jack & Co said: “”We’ve developed strong relationships over the years with many landscapers and garden designers and offer a trade discount on all our lines, as well as our volume discounts.
“Additionally, we have made ‘specials’ on occasion for clients who want something slightly tweaked, all to the same exacting standards of course. Just ask for a quote. Delivery is normally 10 – 15 working days from receipt of order on our standard lines.”
