Deja-vu for plants@work’s ‘new’ committee for the new year

plants@work gathered for their AGM via Zoom: this was truly felt as their existing committee were all happy to retain their positions and work with the organisation through this next year.

Kenneth Freeman explained “I’m happy to remain as Chair for another year. I feel there are a number of things we are trying to get started and it would be good to see them through. These include a New Code of Practice and ways of making the industry greener.

“The committee will start with workshops on marketing and revising our website.”

To support Kenneth, Shirley Anne Marshall and Prettpal Somel both of Ambius will share the supporting role of Deputy Chair. Arvin Bhudia of Lechuza continues in the role of membership secretary while Ruscha Mars owner of the Good Plant Company retains her position as Social Secretary. They will be supported by Shirley Smith joint owner of Botanica Nurseries and Emily Vernon from phs Greenleaf. Ambassador Ian Drummond of Ian Drummond Botanical Design will remain a supporting committee member.

The year ahead
There is much to look forward to with this team continuing to build on this year’s initiatives and to celebrate our 21st year.

The organisation’s first event will be our Awards Gala which we hope to celebrate in The Netherlands visiting nurseries and Floriade, a once every 10 years event, in mid September.

Additionally, a full programme of aims and meetings will be agreed and worked
