Garden Media Guild Awards a success

David Domoney is said to have delighted guests when helping to host the Garden Media Guild Awards (GMGA) last week. The event was held on 26 November 2015 at The Savoy, London, with an afternoon luncheon before celebrating the achievements in the gardening industry.

This year’s event entertained a crowd of familiar faces and a vast array of new ones; “the young blood pooling through the industry,” said Alan Titchmarsh. Guests represented every walk of the gardening media industry; patrons of the guild, journalists, photographers, broadcaster, online commentators, publishers. Every guest received a goodie bag filled with treats donated by the awards’ partners.

The Guilds chosen charities this year included Perennial and Greenfingers. The generosity of the audience meant both went away with over £500 to put towards the causes they represent.

Deborah Stone, now in her final tenure as chairman, announced the winners and posed for photographs, whilst Peter Seabrook hosted the lifetime achievement award to Adrian Bloom.
