With Palmer Landscapes creating new green areas for the students, bringing their outdoor space to life, through the planting of tens of thousands of shrubs and hundreds of trees, as well as spreading 10,000 sqm of seeding and turfing all the green spaces.

Green-tech, which has a long-standing relationship with Paler Landscapes supplied all the machine round tree stakes, tree belting and blocks.

The company also supplied the Mona Irrigation Systems, the bespoke grass seed mixes that were used throughout the project, and the underground anchor system and gator water bags, used to stabilise and irrigate the trees.

The machine round tree stakes used on the project have been treated with Green Osmose AE500 to support longevity and were used with cross bars and belting to secure the trees and reduce damage and movement caused by wind while roots establish.

While the Mona Relief Tree Irrigation water systems work to deliver water straight to the roots of the tree, helping to prevent drought with newly planted trees.

Palmer Landscapes contract manager, Sam Isles, comments: “Green-tech was one of our main suppliers for this project. They stocked all the products we needed and provided materials on a quick turnaround timescale.

“The seed specification we were working too was very detailed so being able to tap into their expertise was invaluable and helped us so much.”

The 1480-bed student accommodation project will help towards meeting the university expanding student body and student recruitment strategy.
