Hampton Court, one of the UK’s leading royal palaces open to the public, is to feature ExcelEdge Borderline steel edging as part of a new, spectacular, ‘immersive’ children’s play garden.
Hampton Court Palace attracts thousands of international visitors each year who flock to admire outstanding examples of Tudor and Baroque architecture, along with grounds and garden’s maintained to a very high standard. The attraction’s forthcoming Magic Garden Appeal aims to build a unique and ‘immersive’ children’s play garden with the objective of encouraging young learners to translate the stories of the palace into their play, with the history and stories of Hampton Court being central themes.
The interactive play garden will feature Tiltyard Towers, fire-breathing dragons and the mythical beasts lair, the Crown and more, enabling visitors of all ages to leave the site with a better sense of what makes Hampton Court special and unique. And complementing the design of the garden’s landscape architecture will be the ExcelEdge Borderline range of metal edging. This 5mm thick steel edging system is manufactured in untreated steel, thus providing sharp, long-lasting edging along hard landscape paths that complement the traditional character of the Hampton Court Palace buildings.
ExcelEdge Borderline steel edging is available in a large range of sizes to provide discreet garden path or border edging. It’s unique joining and fixing method makes the system quicker and easier to work with and install than other edging systems available, and because it’s made from Tora Weathering-Steel, Borderline is a long-lasting steel that weathers in a similar fashion to Corten, resulting in a durable, ‘rusted’ aesthetic.
