LandscapeSummit presented in association with BALI-NCF

The BALI-NCF LandscapeSummit will be taking place at this year’s FutureScape at 12pm on Tuesday 17th November at Sandown Park Racecourse.

The LandscapeSummit is purely for maintenance contractors, it will centre on the BALI National Contractors Forum but not exclusively, with the focus of the day being planning the future. All the major national contractors will be present as well as many small maintenance contractors, this is a great opportunity to understand what is happening in this valuable sector; what are the trends and what the future may look like.

The line-up for the BALI-NCF LandscapeSummit:

Phil Jones
BALI-NCFPhil Jones is managing director of ISS UK’s grounds maintenance division, ISS Facility Services Landscaping, one of the largest grounds maintenance providers in the UK. Phil has worked within the industry for almost 40 years, and is a former chairman of the BALI South Thames Landscape Training Group. He’s also served on the horticultural advisory panels for Brinsbury College and Merrist Wood College, while writing several papers on the challenges facing local authorities and is a subject matter expert and regular contributor to industry events and publications, including Pro Landscaper.Phil will open the Landscape Summit with a talk centering on BALI-NCF, its key goals for the coming months and its role within the wider industry.  The Summit will conclude with a Q and A taking questions from the floor and hosted by Phil.

Andrew Gill 
Chartered Institute of Horticulture

Andrew will be discussing the current state of parks and open spaces, what needs to be done, how it could be achieved and the crucial role the CIH and other specialist groups can play in this.  He will also be talking about the work of the CiH linked to the sustainability of horticultural standards across the sector.

As President of the Chartered Institute of Horticulture and a Chartered Horticulturist himself, Andrew Gill is passionate about raising the status of and professionalising horticulture, having been engaged in the industry for more than 35 years, working in the broad field of amenity horticulture and parks management. Andrew has worked for many of the major service providers and has operated at Director level in all three sectors: private, public and charity.

Mike Windsor

Mike will be discussing the challenges facing landscape maintenance providers and how they can work with (particularly) public sector clients to achieve the balance needed in addressing their particular challenges.

Mike Windsor is director and principal consultant at Mike Windsor Associates and has more than 45 years’ experience within the green space industry. Mike is a prominent and well respected figure within the industry, having served on the Countryside Management and Recreation Panel for Merrist Wood College and the Parks Open Spaces and Countryside Panel for The Institute of Leisure and Amenity Management (ILAM). Mike has collaborated with BALI and the NCF, on raising the profile of parks and open spaces service delivery and lobbying to effect change within the industry, particularly for the contracting sector
