Lively Landscaping for Leicestershire’s new Retail and Leisure Scheme

The Crescent, is Hinckley’s new £80m retail and leisure scheme, designed by the Tin Hat Regeneration Partnership.

While meeting modern needs, the 275,000 square foot purpose built development was designed to link to the existing town centre via a new pathway.

To create a feeling of cohesion, branding for the Crescent, a coloured stripe, was incorporated within the design of the development and features throughout the retail and leisure scheme within the external elevations, public realm and footpath.

SureSet’s coloured recycled glass range, Spectrum®, was specified for the branded pathway.

With the retail and leisure scheme and the SureSet striped footpath now complete, companies are starting to move in.  It is anticipated that the development will be fully occupied with well-known stores by spring 2016.

In November, Sainsbury’s was the first store to open and Cineworld, Hinckley’s first cinema for 20 years, opened at the beginning of December.

The opening of Hinckley’s long-awaited for cinema has received a huge amount of media coverage, most of which has been filmed to the back drop of the super SureSet striped pathway.
