Loknan Architectural work with Kate Gould Gardens on RHS Chelsea Flower Show project

Loknan Architectural, a specialist supplier of bespoke hardwood decking and landscaping products, are working closely with the team at Kate Gould Gardens to assist in bringing a vision to reality at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show this year in May. The show garden design, called ‘City Living’ and registered in the Fresh Gardens category, is a visionary garden which is inspired by contemporary urban construction.

To complement the contemporary theme whilst further enhancing the sense of tranquillity within the urban garden, Loknan’s specialist range of CO2 neutral bamboo decking and cladding will be used. The product is crafted using a thermo-treatment process, offering longevity and sustainability. CO2 neutrality is achieved largely due to its speed of growth – in optimal growing conditions, bamboo can grow at 900mm in just 24 hours.

Kate Gould, owner of Kate Gould Gardens, commented: “We first discovered Loknan in September 2016 where we were incredibly impressed by their range and quality of decking. We decided to ask them if they would like to work with us on our project ‘City Living’ for the Chelsea Flower Show 2017 and were pleased that they accepted the challenge. Working with Loknan has been an absolute pleasure, their attention to detail is impressive and although we are pushing the boundaries with this design they are happy to meet us at every stage and are very much part of the process.”

Speaking of recent developments on the project, Loknan co-founder and project team leader Rolf Diplock said: “We’re very excited to be working with the team at Kate Gould Gardens on this project. It’s a fantastic design, very well thought out and completely unique with the gardens split over the three storeys. The choice of bamboo from our extensive range of hardwood decking products will complement the whole design and help to enhance the appearance of the garden.”
