What: Members of the Three Peaks Extreme team preparing to tackle the three highest peaks in the UK (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowden), with a 450 mile cycle between them, to raise £20,000 for horticulture trade charity, Perennial, will be available to pose for photographs and talk to media about the reasons behind the challenge on the Perennial stand at SALTEX 2013.
When: Wednesday 4 September, 10am
Where: Stand H83, SALTEX 2013, Royal Windsor Racecourse
Who: Brian Herbert, MD of Outdoor Options, Richard Gardiner, Partner at Norris & Gardiner, Simon Cox of Gavin Jones and Paul Downer of Oakview Landscapes. All will be in their cycling gear and with their bikes.
Why: Brian Herbert and Richard Gardiner wanted to organise a cross-sector fundraising event for Perennial, the industry charity that exists to help horticulturists experiencing financial and/or personal hardship. They have galvanized the support of 17 other landscapers, nurserymen and women and will set off for Ben Nevis on Friday 6 September 2013. They hope to raise £20,000 for Perennial.
Brian, Richard, Simon and Paul will also be at the BALI AGM at SALTEX from 10.30am on 4 September at the Pavilion Rooms 2 and 3.
The Three Peaks Extreme challenge precedes Perennial’s new annual fundraising week, HortAid 2013, a week of fundraising events organized by the industry to support horticulturists facing adversity. HortAid 2013 runs from 21 – 29 September.
