Nurture Landscapes named one of the 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain 2019

A successful period of growth and development has resulted in grounds landscaping and maintenance specialist Nurture Landscapes being named as one of the “1000 Companies to Inspire Britain 2019”.

The annual list is compiled by The London Stock Exchange. It factors a company’s size, turnover, and financial growth compared to other companies in different sectors, with those performing strongest being awarded a place on the list.

It also celebrates the contribution of the UK’s most dynamic and rapidly-growing small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and the people working in them, while highlighting the challenges SMEs face.

Being named on the 1000 Companies list comes off the back of Nurture being awarded a handful of Green Apple and Green Flag awards. Alongside a string of British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) Awards in 2018.

Alongside the acquisition of fellow landscaping company Gavin Jones, who celebrated their 100th anniversary this year, Nurture’s operations has expanded considerably across the country, driven by its aptitude for delivering consistent quality of service, building strong customer relations and a focus on its staff.

Peter Fane, managing director for the company, said:
“It’s a privilege to be named on the list of 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain. Recent years have been some of the best in the history of Nurture Landscapes, and we owe a lot of our success to our teams working out in the field and at our depots.

“We always endeavor to deliver the best in quality, be a part of our local communities, and support our staff so that we can all continue inspiring one another.”

A mantra of “recruit for attitude, train for skill” ensures all new members of Nurture’s fast-growing team can expect full training and development opportunities, within a supportive working environment.

The company also offers all management and office staff the opportunity to own a stake in the business, ensuring they remain firmly at the heart of its operations, and approximately 15% of the company is owned by its employees.

Equally committed to its people and its clients as well as working sustainably, Nurture has achieved ISO 14001 accreditation and constantly reviews its operations to ensure clients receive the greenest solutions, pioneers environmental initiatives to reduce carbon footprint, and improves energy efficiency.

In 2018, Nurture was the national winner of the European Business Awards’ Social Responsibility and Environmental Awareness Award, testament to its commitment in championing sustainability.

The company also recently donated a collection of beehives to Howbery Business Park in Oxfordshire, the only solar-powered business park in the UK, and put on a fundraiser for the 25th anniversary of a network of charities around Farnborough.

Fane adds: “We have ambitious plans for growth, and aspire to continue being a company which inspires staff and clients alike. While our head office is in Surrey, we work with clients across the depth and breadth of the UK and do all we can to ensure we are able to give something back to the communities in which we work.”
