    Polaris launches its new diesel Ranger UTV for 2016

     

    Polaris has announced the introduction of the 2016 Polaris Ranger Diesel which gains a whole range of new features that set it apart from its predecessors. This altogether more robust and powerful-looking Diesel now has Polaris Active Descent Control which provides smooth, controlled hill descents, automatically braking all four wheels (when switched to the appropriate setting) on steep inclines for greater safety. Handling and ease of driving is made lighter and smoother as well with Electronic Power Steering fitted as standard, making all-day riding a more comfortable experience.

    Continuing in the comfort department the new Ranger Diesel is designed to accept the revolutionary Polaris Lock & Ride Pro-Fit Cab System for the fastest installation and maximum versatility. The components install quickly and easily in designated mounting locations in the cab frame, with simple locking for fully sealing out the worst weather conditions. The windscreen and rear panel glass windows are scratch resistant for greater visibility. The ideal seat height combines with wide foot clearance for easy entry and exit and there’s also a full ten inches of tilt steering adjustment, and room for three adults.

    When you need it you have an exceptional class-leading 2,000 lbs/907kg of towing capacity and the Ranger Diesel allows you to tackle the toughest jobs with confidence. A 1,500 lbs/680kg payload capacity is highlighted by a rear box with gas-assist dumping operation that can carry up to 1,000 lbs/454kg of materials and a full-sized pallet. Smooth power now comes from a proven 1028cc Kohler high performance diesel engine with indirect injection and it’s EPA/CARB Tier 4 compliant, so friendlier on emissions. There is a massive 110 amp alternator to drive electrical needs – more than double previously available.

    You can depend on the Polaris true AWD advantage when the going gets tough and the on- demand all-wheel drive automatically engages all four wheels for more forward traction when you need it, reverting back to 2WD when you don’t. The VersaTrac Turf Mode switch unlocks the rear differential for easier, tighter turns without scuffing the grass. The Polaris engineers have designed the Ranger Diesel with a perfect balance of smooth riding, handling and turning radius from an ideal wheelbase paired with 12”/30.5cm of ground clearance, and versatile Carlisle tyres offer good traction, easy steering and extra grip. Convenience is rounded off with a driver’s-side fuel access for the large 10 gallon/37.9 litre diesel tank and to check and fill engine oil you just raise the rear cargo box.
