Pro Landscaper December 2021

Welcome to the last Pro Landscaper of 2021, our Small Business themed issue!

It’s certainly been another memorable year. Though it might have got off to a bad start as we entered the third national lockdown in January, the industry was still able to make the most of the new appreciation for green spaces. As the months went by, 2021 saw the return of the trade exhibitions, flower shows, and a landscaping boom. Needless to say, we’re all looking forward to seeing what 2022 will bring.

In our Educate section, we include a number of insightful Small Business Specials. Covering everything from money saving tips, joining an association, taking the next step and enhancing your business, to profitable garden design. We‘ve got some great content for our readers, all supported by industry professionals.

Speaking of enhancing your business, we speak to Marc Lane in Pro Landscaper’s Let’s Hear it From this month to find out how he transformed his business, Landscapia, for the better. Marc offers his best advice for those just starting out.

And, in the Nurture section, we speak to Edward Peake, Sezincote’s owner, and head gardener Greg Power about the Sezincote estate and gardens that have been crafted to replicate a Thomas Daniell painting. We find out the detail on its paradise, Indian inspired design, and how the garden has been changing with the times.

The UK Landscape Barometer revealed a boost in industry confidence this month, perhaps as respondents are starting to plan and prepare for their winter work. In addition, December is the first issue where we can provide year-on-year statistics – an exciting moment indeed! We take a look at how turnover and confidence levels have changed in comparison to this time last year.
