Pro Landscaper January 2022

Happy New Year! As we dust off the memories of the last twelve months, we step forward into a whole new year. Whilst there’s a few things we’re carrying over into 2022 – the pandemic and material shortage for starters – if there’s one thing we’ve learnt from 2021 it’s that the industry is resilient and always looking ahead.
At FutureScape in November, a series of insightful seminars hooked our visitors. However, seminar ‘One Industry: Future Collaboration’ in particular proved very popular. Focusing on the future and collaboration in the industry, representatives from four industry trade associations sat on one panel to discuss how they work together. We’ve got the run down inside – page 12.
In our Let’s Hear it From this month, Sue Morgan discusses landing her “dream job” after being appointed as CEO of the Landscape Institute, all things COP26, and her big plans for the Landscape Institute’s future.
Remaining on the topic of future planning, Sue Biggs discusses the RHS’ green and “ambitious” goals for the next year. With a new sustainable strategy in place which sets a timeline towards becoming climate positive, Sue discusses the RHS’ unique and powerful position in the industry.
And of course, we can’t start a new year without a few predictions! In our Inspire section, leading suppliers in the industry tell us about what trends they’re expecting to see in natural stone paving during 2022. What do you think?
With a fresh start comes new goals and new challenges, and we’re certainly excited to see what the year 2022 brings.
