Pro Landscaper May 2021

We’ve all had the date of 17 May etched in our minds since Boris announced it was a stop on the roadmap to lifting restrictions. We’ve spent the last month huddled under umbrellas in pub gardens to avoid torrential rain, and now we’ll finally be allowed to drink and dine indoors. It has boosted confidence that all restrictions are likely to be lifted soon, hopefully at the end of June, and we will return to some form of ‘normality’.

With hope on the horizon, our May issue felt like the perfect time to launch Pro Landscaper’s small project BIG IMPACT Awards for this year. Entries are now open, and the ceremony will be taking place at FutureScape, a two-day event in November at the ExCeL London. The shortlist for the Pro Landscaper Business Awards was also revealed, with the ceremony set to take place in June.

Pro Landscaper wasn’t the only one looking ahead to an event-filled calendar. Sue Biggs said that, whilst the RHS continues to adapt to the government’s restrictions, there are plenty of events to look forward to this year, including RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival in July and the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in September. The RHS will also be opening RHS Hilltop – The Home of Gardening Science at Wisley in June.

Alongside dates to add to the calendar, Pro Landscaper is filled with news and views from our regular contributors, which now include expert witness Gareth Wilson. We also interviewed Nordland Landscapes which, after just three years of trading, has bold ambitions for future growth.
