So you’re self-isolating…who’s your favourite person to be locked up with? Right now – my wife of 18 years, this is giving us the chance to spend time together with our 2 lovely children rather than the normal relay that is everyday life!!

Name one thing that’s changed about your daily routine that you’re going to take forward after lockdown’s over?  The hour a day we spend together just talking, at the moment this is on our walk in the sunshine. But going forward, an hour of catching up properly – no phones, no TV, no work. That is the way forward.

How many cups of tea/coffee are you now drinking per day?  3 or 4 … which is a bit less than a normal day depending on the generosity of customers. A lot more tea and a lot less coffee seems to provide a better night’s sleep.

Best new Netflix/boxset series or book you’ve discovered? You have got to give ‘Once Upon A Time’ a go, it works for both our 6 and 11 year olds as well as the parents. Very clever, over 150 episodes and pretty good eye candy too!

What do you miss most about life before lockdown? Shaking hands and hugging your friends.

DIY vs gardening – which wins? Gardening….

What time is wine o’clock? 7pm… still trying to extol some sort of self control. Although I have now found the taste for red rather than white.

When working from home is your background choice radio/tv/silence? Choice is music on Soundcloud… reality is the laughing and hum of happy children.

In hindsight, what would you have prepared in advance (ie food/diy products etc)? My wife has been on it with the food…. And I am quite happy to not be DIY ing… but to be fair – our own garden hasn’t had so much care and attention for a long time!

Is the government doing a good job of keeping you informed? Not totally. They seem to be slipping changes of advice under the radar onto their websites without making the public aware. So there will be a public backlash for people trying to do the right thing by their business.

What’s your predicted date for return to normality? Normality – likely never…. Out of the house and onto site – hopefully June.

Best new follow on social media?  Hmm just discovered Instagram for the business, a whole new lifetime to waste looking at a screen now….. PUT THE PHONE DOWN!!!
