You’re self-isolating – who’s your favourite person to be locked up with?
My other half Jules is wonderfully supportive. He listens as I offload my fears, he updates me only on the news he thinks I need to know, he encourages me, and never lets me get away with it when I tell him I can’t do something – all whilst keeping me constantly amused. He’s my hero. Besides him, I have loved hanging out with the wonderful community of 10,000 folk each day on my personal Instagram account @myrealgarden – definitely my lockdown silver lining.

One thing that’s changed in daily routine that will continue post-lockdown?
Getting back to some proper, daily gardening at home. My garden was an absolute shameful tip. I’ve been a bit ‘cobbler’s own shoes’ about my outdoor space, always letting my own garden fly in the bid to make other people’s look beautiful. But in lockdown, I’ve finally had the time to sort out my garden – hurrah! -Though I often wish I had my clients’ budgets instead of my own rather more meagre one!

How many cups of tea/coffee are you now drinking per day?
Not so many actually – once at my desk, I’m ridiculously focused and often forget to drink! That said, if we were talking wine – before lockdown, I never drank during the week and am just trying to stop that ‘glass a night habit’ that’s crept in since 23 March.

Best new series or book you’ve discovered?
I’m currently reading ’The Pottery Gardener’ by Arthur Parkinson – a delight – and have watched ’Normal People’, ‘I May Destroy You’, ‘Dead to Me’ and ‘Hanna’ during lockdown, but my absolute favourites have been ‘Grayson’s Art Club’, ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 5’ and ‘War of the Worlds’ (2019). An eclectic mix to say the least!

What do you miss most about pre-lockdown life?
No doubt about it – hugging. I miss having a general disregard for people’s personal space.

DIY or gardening?
Really? No question! Gardening.

What time is ‘wine o’clock’?
Around about 7pm in the week, 5pm at the weekend! One must have SOME self-restraint?!

What is your background noise when working from home?
Radio 6 music all day long. I literally cannot work without background music.

In hindsight, what would you have prepared in advance?
A bigger bank account stuffed with cash.

Is the government doing a good job of keeping you informed?
I actually think the email contact they’ve sent out has been encouragingly regular, but I haven’t always been able to decipher it, and it’s seemed a constantly shifting thing. Thankfully, I have the support of a brilliant accountant and an outsourced human resources department.

What’s your predicted date for returning to normality?
Blimey. That’s a big question. As a business, I think we’ll be riding this rollercoaster for a long while yet. I’ll hang on tight and remain focused and positive. I hope that things will be more normal by Christmas but think more likely summer 2021.

Best new follow on social media?
@arthurparkinson_ on Instagram – candid, talented, colourful, honest, hilarious, fragile, heart-wrenching, witty, sweary, intelligent, bold and beautiful. ALL of life’s good stuff.
