Pro Landscaper’s Lockdown Little Interview

Charlotte Russell, The Landscapers Circle

So you’re self-isolating…who’s your favourite person to be locked up with? My family, at the moment… ha-ha! There are currently six of us in my household and we’re all working from home so it’s a little cramped!

Name one thing that’s changed about your daily routine that you’re going to take forward after lockdown’s over? Keeping hydrated! I thought I was drinking enough water but I definitely wasn’t. I have been feeling so much better for the improved water intake so definitely taking that forward.

How many cups of tea/coffee are you now drinking per day? I always need one coffee in the morning to get me going but that’s generally it! Unless there are biscuits around…

Best new Netflix/boxset series or book you’ve discovered? Grace and Frankie! Featuring Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin it’s 30-minute episodes of light-hearted fun and laughter – exactly what I need currently!

What do you miss most about life before lockdown? Hanging out with my friends, although we have been video calling and planning virtual pub quizzes!

DIY vs gardening – which wins? DIY all the way! I have Marie Kondo’d the heck out of my home and been trying to figure out any DIYs that can better improve the use of space.

What time is wine o’clock? With or after dinner! Though I have to confess wine is not up my street – Long Island Iced Teas and Vodka-Cokes all the way!

When working from home is your background choice radio/tv/silence? I flit between silence and a couple of my playlists on Spotify. It depends what task I am working on (and whether I need the support of my favourite singers to get through it!)

In hindsight, what would you have prepared in advance (ie food/diy products etc)? Food! Although we aren’t doing too badly now but with everyone home the dishwasher seems to be on permanently and food keeps ‘disappearing’ magically!

Is the government doing a good job of keeping you informed? I believe so, as an online business The Landscaper’s Circle isn’t majorly affected but our customers are. So we are trying everything we can to support them in this uncertain time.

What’s your predicted date for return to normality? As I mentioned, we are still working with our customers but it is unusual not meeting with TLC’s co-founder Paula and our members. So hopefully soon but I think it will be a couple of months.

Best new follow on social media? @whitneyysimmons ! Whitney has been posting at home, no equipment workouts that are accessible for all levels which is amazing. I can definitely feel I’ve worked out though…
