Pro Landscaper’s Lockdown Little Interview

Richard Bickler, Arbour Landscape Solutions

So you’re self-isolating…who’s your favourite person to be locked up with? Well it’s got to be Gaby, Mia, Chloe and my dogs Benji & Ollie 🙂 Well I had to say that as now that I work full time from home, could you imagine if I had said Jurgen Klopp first – they would have gone mad…

Name one thing that’s changed about your daily routine that you’re going to take forward after lockdown’s over? Sadly I am a creature of habit and strictly follow my routine which I implemented just over 3 years ago no matter what. That must be the Virgo in me…

How many cups of tea/coffee are you now drinking per day? 1 Coffee at 8am and 12pm. In between that it’s hot water and water.

Best new Netflix/boxset series or book you’ve discovered? Ozark and Money Heist.

What do you miss most about life before lockdown? I used to travel all over the world for 3 years seeing quarries and factories and then meeting up with clients in the UK. You can’t beat F2F business.

DIY vs gardening – which wins? 50/50 – I love doing both when time allows.

What time is wine o’clock? Beer after 6 every other night and a bottle of something nice on a Friday night.

When working from home is your background choice radio/tv/silence? Radio 2 all day and then Spotify if I get bored.

In hindsight, what would you have prepared in advance (ie food/diy products etc)? TBH it hasn’t really affected us, the kitchen is my wife’s territory apart from the daily cuppa or weekly fried eggs on toast I make her. Our house is always well stocked day and night apart from chocolate biscuits….

Is the government doing a good job of keeping you informed? We are living in unprecedented times and I believe the government is never going to be able to please everyone. We just have to get on with life as best we can.

What’s your predicted date for return to normality? Arbour Landscape Solutions and Green Envee work from respective homes and are yet to stop. Businesses have never been busier, long may it continue…

Best new follow on social media? TBH most of our social media is looked after by a third party with me interspersing once or twice a day. I’ve been watching my kids go mad with TikTok so I suppose that might be coming to my phone someday soon…
