Quadron Services is celebrating a triumphant end to the year after being awarded two prestigious Principal Awards at the BALI National Landscape Awards, together with a National Award for Employer of the Year.
The Awards, which are run annually by the British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) in association with Horticulture Week, pay tribute to landscape designers and contractors who have demonstrated exceptionally high standards of professionalism, skill and overall customer service.
Quadron fought off stiff competition from other grounds maintenance contractors to pick up Principal Awards in both of the grounds maintenance categories:
- The Kyoto and Fukushima Garden in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea received the Principal Award in the Grounds Maintenance: Domestic or Commercial (under £50,000) category;
- Burgess Park in the London Borough of Southwark picked up the Principal Award for Grounds Maintenance: Domestic or Commercial (over £50,000).
The sites were visited by BALI’s judges earlier this year, and to win a Principal Award a scheme must demonstrate exceptional client satisfaction and present contractors with a high degree of difficulty yet have been executed to a high level of quality.
Judges’ comments for the Kyoto and Fukushima Garden included, “The enthusiasm of the gardeners is clearly evident in the very high standard achieved,” while Burgess Park’s adjudicator noted “The contractor’s operatives are very proactive and demonstrate great attention to detail.”
Quadron staff, with guests from the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and the London Borough of Southwark attended the awards ceremony at Grosvenor House, London on 6th December where they were presented with their awards by comedian, actor and writer, Hugh Dennis.
Clive Ivil, Quadron Services’ Managing Director, commented, “We are delighted to have received two Principal Awards, which are a real accolade for Quadron and its staff. Full credit must go to the teams who maintain the winning schemes on a daily basis with such passion and enthusiasm. The teams at Southwark and Kensington and Chelsea have cultivated excellent relationships with each client and have an intrinsic understanding of their specific requirements. I am extremely proud of our achievements this year and it is fantastic to be able to end 2013 on such a high note.”
Commenting on the award for Burgess Park, Quadron’s Senior Contract Manager for Southwark, Terry Burns, said, “Words cannot possibly describe the incredible year I have experienced as Senior Contract manager for Quadron Services, and being part of the incredible journey in Burgess Park has been one of the best experiences of my life.
“It was my distinguished honour to accept the Principal Award for Burgess Park, but the whole team deserves recognition: enormous credit must go to Mark Cox, Mered Jones, Terry Buttery, Lisa Nicholas, Kieron Lee, Steve Warne, Kevon Andrews, Louis Barron, Anthony Leo, Jeannie Cotton, Billy Rutherwood and Jonathan Corrodus. Here’s to more accolades next year.”
Ian Fleming, Holland Park’s Head Gardener added, “The gardeners and I are incredibly pleased and proud of our Principal Award from BALI; it feels like our hard work has really paid off. Working in the Kyoto and Fukushima Garden has presented us with many opportunities, but this has been one of the greatest.”
