This year RHS Garden Wisley Flower Show will be opened by BBC Gardeners’ World presenter Rachel de Thame.
More than 50 specialist nurseries will be attending, showcasing a wide range, including hydrangeas, agapanthus, lilies, ornamental grasses, palm trees and chilli plants.
In the National Dahlia Society Show’s floral marquee visitors can view more than 100 vibrant competition classes of dahlias in all shapes, sizes and colours. On 7 and 8 September, visitors can bring their most impressive home-grown specimens to be judged by an expert panel in the ‘My Best Garden Dahlia’ competition
Creations by the Surrey region of the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies (NAFAS) will be on display, with a special anniversary theme, taking a nostalgic look back at the past 10 years. Visitors are invited to get involved by taking their pick in the people’s choice award.
The Glasshouse will also be transformed during the show with a special ‘RHS Garden Mars’ display imagining how plant life might look in outer space, featuring a Martian-themed landscape, a giant plant rocket, airplant planets and an astronaut.
In addition, the Glasshouse Gallery will house an artistic photography exhibition by Susan Phelps, capturing the fascinating and often unseen details of nature in the world around us.
Admission to the RHS Garden Wisley Flower Show is free to RHS Members, normal garden admission applies to non-members. For further information, including how to book tickets and travel advice, visit www.rhs.org.uk/gardens/wisley.
